Corporate Responsibility
Supporting Communities
We take our responsibilities to the communities we serve very seriously – and we’ve been doing so, quietly and enthusiastically, for the 160 years we’ve been in business here in the South West.
Our businesses directly employ over 250 people in the South West region – whilst our business activities indirectly produce countless other jobs and regional economic contribution.

And we are proud to be an Investors in People company, training and developing our employees to achieve their full potential.
We recognise and support worthy regional causes. From small sponsorships at a local level, through to major events including the internationally-recognised solo transatlantic yacht race the Transat at Sutton Harbour Plymouth. Events like this bring lasting benefits for the South West.
The Sutton Harbour Festival brings together a colourful pagent of maritime events – including the Sutton Harbour Classic Boat Rally and the Port of Plymouth Regatta.
Also in Plymouth, we helped develop safe and family-friendly all-weather outdoor eating areas along the Barbican waterfront. And we were proud to support the city’s Theatre Royal in their recent refurbishment.
In Exeter, we’ve sponsored months of free Jazz On The Quay concerts, whilst In Cornwall, we sponsor the annual Tourism Awards which recognise excellence in the sector.
And through our airline, Air Southwest, we’ve helped countless local schools, clubs and charities with donations of flights. And a generation of the region’s schoolchildren are enjoying familiarisation visits to Plymouth City Airport.
Social responsibility is not a burden. It’s our pleasure.
